Matias Almeyda is a former Argentine professional footballer who is currently a manager. He was born on December 21, 1973, in Azul, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Almeyda had a successful playing career, primarily as a midfielder, and played for several top clubs including River Plate, Parma, and Lazio. He also earned 35 caps for the Argentine national team and was part of the squad that won the Copa America in 1993.
